Lester Syyong, Registered Physiotherapist

MPT, BSc Kin

Lester holds a Master of Physiotherapy with Distinction from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. He recently moved back home to British Columbia after working at a busy private clinic in Sydney, Australia.

Lester is passionate in helping people and encouraging them to contribute to their own recovery from injury. This began when he was forced to the sidelines following long-term injuries from university-level volleyball and competitive basketball. As both a physiotherapist and an avid athlete, Lester takes the time with each individual to find the root cause of the problem in addition to addressing their immediate concerns. He has also taken his passion abroad, volunteering in Peru to aid in providing high-quality treatment to the less fortunate.

Lester has enjoyed treating a variety of conditions and individuals from all backgrounds, ranging from working with elite athletes and covering the Sydney Harlequins Rugby FC, to aiding in post-operative rehab, motor vehicle accident and work injuries, and chronic headaches and migraines. His treatment approach involves a combination of manual therapy, soft tissue work, education and exercise prescription specific to each individual. He has also taken multiple courses to further his professional development, and is always eager to learn more with the goal of providing high quality care to his patients through evidence-based practice.

When not at the clinic, Lester can be found on the court playing basketball and volleyball, jamming out on the guitar and saxophone, and satisfying his coffee connoisseur taste buds at the best cafes in Vancouver.
