The West End neighbourhood has much to offer being the gateway to Stanley Park; bordered by Stanley Park, Coal Harbour, English Bay, and Robson and Granville Streets. It lies west of Downtown Vancouver and has a diverse culture, many heritage homes and high rise apartments, parks and beaches, great shopping dining and is one of the liveliest areas in all of Vancouver. The West End was Vancouver's first downtown area, it is densely populated but offers views over to Kitsilano and UBC, or over to the beautiful Stanley Park with it's stately trees makes the West End both an urban dweller and nature lovers dream residential area.

It’s easy to get around, walking, jogging and biking being popular along the English Bay Seawall and into Stanley Park, or you can rent a kayak or paddle board at English Bay, play tennis or lawn bowling. The West End Community Centre is a well run and efficient centre offering many courses and facilities for all ages. There are many shops and variety of restaurants and people watching all within walking distance. Robson Street, Denman Street and Davie Street define the West End. Robson Street has some of the most expensive retail stores in Vancouver. One of the most iconic landmarks in the West End is the Sylvia Hotel which was built in 1912 and was originally designed as an apartment building until 1960 when it became a full service hotel. It is a well known landmark for the residents with its brick and terracotta extension softened by the Virginia creeper that now completely covers the Gilford Street side of the hotel. In 1975 it was designated by the City of Vancouver as a heritage building there by ensuring its survival for many years to come.
